ArcelorMittal Commercial Sections in collaboration with ArcelorMittal's Research and Development department in Esch-sur-Alzette invests significant resources into steel sections R&D projects, and collaborates with many external partners.

The fields covered by R&D are among others:

• Structural Fire Engineering
• New tailor-made sections
• Installations of sections (processing, welding, coating, connections, erection)
• New applications for steel sections
• Enhanced design methods for structures and bridges
• Durability (corrosion protection systems, design, fire safety)
• Sustainability (environmental product declaration, life cycle assessment)
